Christian couples are being urged to reaffirm the value of, and commitment to, their marriages this week.

Keeping their eyes, ears, minds and hearts on God, is one of the keys to a great marriage .

That’s according to Brett and Kate Ryan from Focus On The Family.

They say the closer we draw to God, the more he’ll give us keys, wisdom and love to strengthen the relationship with our chosen life partners.

The Ryans add that marriage is a form of discipleship and couples should seek to bring out the best in each other.

And to achieve that, they need to become more emotionally intimate.

Kate says it requires “a time of being vulnerable with each other. You have to set up an environment to allow for that.”

“If couples understand the conversation will just be heard by them, they’re more likely to talk about things that are their deepest concerns about themselves .. and their greatest fear.”

During Marriage Week, the Ryans will be hosting free online conferences for couples on money management and intimacy.
