The largest evangelical prison ministry in the US is planning to reach 100,000 inmates with a new daily devotional.
The Christian Post reports, Prison Fellowship has partnered with Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute to create the new daily devotionals.
The two 120-day publications are based on Moody’s Today in the Word series and contain readings from all four gospels.
They also include Bible studies, discussion questions and a series of testimonies from previously incarcerated Christians who found God while in prison.
One of the devotionals is aimed at men while the other is written for women.
The initiative has been described as one of the largest outreach efforts in Prison Fellowship’s 45-year history.
Vice President Dan Kingery says, he believes many lives will be changed through the devotionals.
The devotionals were written by professors and staff at Moody Bible Institute and have been ordered by many prisons throughout the US.
