AFL talent scout Kevin Sheehan says there is enough information available on young players for clubs to make decisions at next month’s draft, but concedes that picking talent will be harder.
With no games this year because of COVID-19, Sheehan says the youngsters who played in the Australian under-17 game against New Zealand last year will be sought after.
“I think 17 out of that game will get picked up for sure,” Sheehan has told 3AW radio.
“They’d also played many of those grand final days called the ‘Futures’ games where there’s 50 players in Australia… that gave them a great basis.”
The 2020 AFL draft will be held as a virtual event on December 9, with the pre-season and rookie draft to take place on December 10.
