Australia has ended a five-match losing streak, defeating New Zealand by 71 runs in the first One Day International match behind closed doors at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Setting 258 for victory, David Warner and Aaron Finch made 67 and 60 respectively.
Skipper Aaron Finch says it was an odd feeling playing behind closed doors:
“It was unique, it was something that I haven’t experienced before – playing cricket for Australia in front of half a dozen people really… But I think all in all, it was a pretty good result. Great to get out and put on a pretty good show for the fans watching at home” said Finch.
All matches are being played crowd-free in an effort to protect fans and players from potentially contracting coronavirus.
