It’s an Olympic bronze medal for Australian Scotty James — after an epic battle in the half pipe, won by American Shaun White.
It was billed as the greatest ever Olympic halfpipe showdown — and hasn’t disappointed the thousands of fans at the base of the mountain in PyeongChang.
Wearing his trademark red boxing gloves — 23 year old Victorian Scotty James laid down two blistering runs, but crashed in the third, his best score of 92 secured him the bronze medal.
Shaun White was sitting second to Japan’s Ayumo Hirano heading into the the very last run of the decider — and he pulled out a near perfect performance , to rise into first place and claim his third Olympic gold, with a score of 97.75.
So bronze to flag bearer Scotty James — Australia’s second medal in PyeongChang.
