Ballot Position to be Announced

Friday, November 9th, 2018

Candidates in the Victorian state election are due to find out their all- important position on the ballot paper ahead of the November 24 vote.

Draws will take place about 1pm on Friday in each seat, one day after the deadline for candidate nominations from political parties.

Victorian Planning Minister Richard Wynne will likely be paying close attention as he faces a tough battle to retain his electorate of Richmond, currently held by 1.9 per cent.

The Liberal party will not contest the seat meaning their valuable preferences, used in recent years to get Mr Wynne across the line ahead of Greens challengers, will not be on offer.

The Liberals have fielded low-profile candidates in the key inner-city seats of Melbourne, Northcote and Brunswick, where Labor and the Greens will lock horns and ballot positions are also expected to play an important role.
