British Health Service Needs Prayer

Thursday, August 9th, 2018

Concerns over a growing staff shortage in the National Health Service has a British charity calling for prayer.

In England alone, up to 100,000 positions for doctors and nurses are vacant.

Steve Fouch from Christian Medical Fellowship says the government’s recent announcement of an extra 20 billion pounds a year isn’t enough to save the NHS.

He says it will help maintain current services but the number of treatments needed is expected to rise.

Mr Fouch says it’s important to remember NHS staff in our prayers.

He’s told Premier, it would be good to pray that they don’t lose heart but stay committed to their values and ideals.

Mr Fouch says what makes the NHS work is people with heart and vision.

He says it’s also very close to the heart and the vision of the Church – reaching out in kindness, compassion, and love.
