Central Queensland Man, 30, Dies from Coronavirus

Wednesday, May 27th, 2020

A 30-year-old man in central Queensland has become the youngest in Australia to die of coronavirus.

Health Minister Steven Miles says the man from Blackwater had other medical issues and it was only revealed he had the virus in a post mortem.

“It appears that this gentleman who has passed away was ill for some time and did not get tested, so I want anyone – anyone in Queensland – who is unwell to go and get tested today, please,” says Mr Miles.

The man’s partner is in isolation in Rockhampton Hospital with virus symptoms.

Police and paramedics who attended the couple’s home are now in quarantine.

Pop up clinics have been set up in Blackwater.
