Almost four months on from the Beirut Port explosion, a Christian organisation is helping to rebuild local schools and restore educational stability for students.
The Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development is joining the relief efforts, amid a school year hampered by blocked streets from economic protests, COVID-19 restrictions, and continued disruption from the fatal blast on August 4.
Spokesman Wissam Nasrallah has told Mission Network News, Christians are encouraged to pray for restoration efforts, and particularly for the schools and their leaders.
“We know how valuable schools are for keeping hope alive in the hearts of hundreds of families,” he says.
“Pray for wisdom for teachers, for the principals that they may make the right decisions.”
The organisation is assisting a number of Christian schools and a Sunni school.
