Iraqi troops have arrested 35 Islamic State members west of Mosul – and according to a persecution watchdog, the news has Christians concerned.
A security source reports, Iraqi police also arrested an Islamic State military official in Mosul city in Nineveh on May 27th.
Thousands of suspects with links to Islamic State have reportedly been arrested since the city was recaptured in July last year.
International Christian Concern says the arrests in the Mosul area further reinforce Christians’ fears that Islamic State has melted back into society, following their defeat.
ICC says security remains a primary concern for areas previously occupied by the militants.
It says it’s discouraging those Christians who are still displaced, from returning home.
