Compassion Helps Provide Internet for Peruvian Students

Thursday, January 14th, 2021

A simple internet antenna has proved a gamechanger in Peru – allowing children to continue their education at home through virtual classes.
When Compassion International surveyed local families in Peru, they identified internet access for educational purposes as the most significant need.
Pastor Luis – whose church runs the local Compassion centre – says purchasing internet plans for all the families was not financially viable for the church.
The church decided the best solution would be installing their own internet antenna.
Pastor Luis has told Christian Today, they knew it would be expensive, but they trusted God to provide.
Compassion helped the centre buy the antenna, and now 426 children will receive the internet service for free.
The expansion of wifi in the village also means more people can access the church’s online services.
