Fed Cup Win for Australia

Monday, February 11th, 2019

Australia is through to the semifinals of the Fed Cup for the first time since 2014, after a win over the United States.

It was decided in the doubles, where Ash Barty and Priscilla Hon defeated the US in straight sets.

Barty says she’s proud of her team.

“There’s absolutely nothing better than coming out and playing a live tie for your country, and for Pri to come out and play the way she did today, I’m just so proud of her,” says Barty.

Earlier in the day, Daria Gavrilova lost her singles rubber against Danielle Collins in three sets, after Barty had won her match against Madison Keys.
