Four years ago a Kenyan woman started a journey that would forever change her life and her community.
Margaret Njuguna worked in development for years helping the poor, but noticed they didn’t do anything for people with disabilities.
In many parts of Africa the stigma around people with disabilities is so strong that children are hidden or abandoned, and many move to the cities to beg.
Margaret said she realised God wanted more for these people and decided He was calling her to rescue them.
She told Mission Network News, she stepped out in faith and God used her obedience mightily by providing a beautiful home they call En-Gedi – the name of the place in Israel where David hid from King Saul.
En-Gedi houses more than 30 children, as well as short and long-term volunteers.
Margaret said God called her and she knew He would provide, if she answered.
