The faith-based film “I Can Only Imagine” is having an impact around the world.
More than 100 countries have paid to distribute and in some cases translate the movie.
Even China, which has shut down churches and threatens to eliminate Christianity, wants to show I Can Only Imagine – only because it is a success.
The film grossed more than $83 million in the U.S. alone.
Director Jon Erwin told Christian Headlines that in Australia, a story has emerged of a woman crying in the theatre after watching the film.
A stranger asked “Do you know Jesus?” and she replied “Do you?” And the stranger said, “No, but I need Him in my life.
I need someone to explain this to me.”
Based on a true story, I Can Only Imagine tells how the father of Bart Millard, of the music group MercyMe, came to faith in Christ late in life.
