Keep Giving to Churches Despite Closures, Says Pence

US vice president Mike Pence has called on Christians to continue giving to their churches even though they may not be holding services.

My Christian Daily reports, Mr Pence made the comments during a White House briefing on the COVID-19 crisis, also attended by President Donald Trump and Secretary of Housing, Dr Ben Carson.

Mr Pence said he and the president were grateful to America’s faith leaders for making the hard decision to suspend weekend services; however, he pointed out that those same ministries were still supporting foodbanks and coming alongside the most vulnerable in the community.

Mr Pence said he and the president wanted to remind people even if they’re not in a pew, they should still make a donation if they can, as churches and other ministries are continuing to play a vital role in the community.

President Trump also asked people to stay at home and save lives.
