A second march to raise awareness for persecuted Christians is being planned for the US capital later this year.

The rally is being organised by 24 year-old Gia Chacón, who launched the not-for-profit organisation For The Martrys after being inspired by persecuted Christians as a young girl.

The Christian Post reports the first ever US march to stand in solidarity with the persecuted Church, was held in California last year and attracted hundreds to the event.

This year’s march will be held in September in Washington DC.

Ms Chacón travelled to Egypt with her grandmother as a little girl and was touched by the bold faith of Egyptian Christians.

When she returned to Egypt at the age of 20, she decided to devote her life to serving the persecuted Church.

Estimates suggest that more than 340 million Christians live in areas where they face persecution for their faith.
