Rowville receiving up to 61 millimetres of rain; as much as 47 mills fell at Doncaster; Springvale received 45 mills.
Rod Dixon from the Weather Bureau says despite the rain over the past week, it’s not necessarily a sign of things to come.
He admits it’s been a cool, wet start to summer after a prolonged early period of heat through late November.
He says we have moved into a weak La Nina, which increases the chances of above-average rainfall.
