Hundreds of people have braved a chilly night to gather to pray and worship in Kalgoorlie last night ahead of the Goldfields Celebration outreach with evangelist Will Graham this weekend.
Local churches have been planning the event for several years, in conjunction with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Local Pastor Bill Kirkland says it is an exciting time that is already having an impact on the city.
“The prayer meetings have been fantastic, building and building. We had a reception with the mayor on Wednesday which was great for Will Graham to be able to speak into the life of this city. Great things are beginning to take place.”
The event is the latest in a series of mass outreaches featuring the grandson of Billy Graham in regional Australian cities, with others including Alice Springs in 2016 and Broken Hill in 2014.
The Goldfields Celebration is this weekend in Centennial Park, Kalgoorlie and also includes live music from The Afters, Steve Grace, SkyPilot, Children’s entertainer Sean W Smith, and other guest artists.
