Ministry Saves Vulnerable Girls from Slavery

Friday, October 11th, 2019

A mission organisation working in Asia is saving tens of thousands of vulnerable girls from being sold into slavery.

Assist News Service reports, Gospel for Asia is supporting more than 600 Bridge of Hope centres across the continent, providing safety, free schooling, medical care, and meals for at-risk children.

In the lead-up to International Day of the Girl Child today, GFA has revealed tens of thousands of girls from impoverished communities are enrolled in the centres.

GFA founder Dr KP Yohannan says many of the poorest families are manipulated into selling their daughters to opportunists who promise a better life for them, but many of the girls are never seen or heard from again.

GFA supports indigenous churches across Asia to speak up for girls in danger and present a message of hope in their God-given potential.
