A three-times Superbowl winner is being mourned across the United States
Former NFL wide receiver David Patten is being remembered for his play, his life and his faith.
The devout Christian was killed in a South Carolina motorcycle crash earlier this month.
The 47-year-old won three Superbowl rings with the New England Patriots.
He also played for the New York Giants, the Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints.
Former Patriots teammate and fellow Christian, Benjamin Watson, described Patten as one of the greatest men he ever knew.
Watson said he demonstrated his faith in a real and tangible way and preached the gospel to all who would listen.
His former school coach said that as a teenager, Patten was driven by his faith which always came first
He was about to complete a degree in social work when he died.
