Four candidates have been nominated for the post of Anglican Archbishop of Sydney.
Sydney Anglicans News reports, by close of nominations on Tuesday March 23, three bishops and the Dean of Sydney had been entered, each with the required 20 names of Synod members in support.
The Very Reverend Kanishka Raffel, who has been the Dean of Sydney since 2016, is among those in line to replace the retiring Archbishop Glenn Davies.
North Sydney Bishop Chris Edwards, Wollongong Bishop Peter Hayward, and South Sydney Bishop Michael Stead, are also in the running for the role.
The election synod begins on May 4, with speeches about each nominee before a series of voting rounds culminating in final addresses and a secret ballot.
Archbishop Davies leaves the role after eight years.
