A one-way travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand is beginning today.
New Zealanders can now enter New South Wales, the ACT, and the Northern Territory without going into hotel quarantine, but Australians won’t be able to visit New Zealand for now.
Tourism Industry Council Executive Director Simon Westaway says it’s a good start.
“This is a positive first step; what we need now is momentum and to be able to move forward,” Mr Westaway says.
“We need to be able to open up an east coast travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand. We want to see that happen by Christmas. We believe with the low levels of community transmission in both Australia and New Zealand, we’re well placed to see this occur.”
