Faith, family, and fitness come together thanks to a Queensland not-for-profit organisation and a Sunshine Coast church.
Coolum Beach Baptist Church has joined up with Carinity to help time-poor families work on their education and fitness at the same time and the same place.
According to the New Life online newspaper, a grant from Carinity has been used to transform an outdoor undercover area into a homework space where kids can receive the help they need with schoolwork in a supervised environment.
Coolum Beach Baptist pastor John Gallagher says the new study area gives kids the chance to do their homework then hit the soccer field with the local club on the adjoining church grounds.
Over the past 15 years, Carinity has given out more than $400,000 in community grants to more than 130 church based initiatives across Queensland.
