Ravi Zacharias Relies on Prayers, God Amid Cancer Battle

Tuesday, March 31st, 2020

Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias has spoken about his cancer diagnosis, saying with the prayers of people and God’s strength he will return to ministry full-time.

The Christian Post reports, the 73-year-old head of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries was left shocked by the discovery of a tumour in his lower spine while undergoing back surgery.

He’ll begin treatment soon for a rare form of cancer known as sarcoma.

Mr Zacharias says the biggest challenge has been the physical pain he’s endured over the past few months.

He says he’s never felt such pain in his life, but says he’ll get through it and hopefully will return to full-time ministry by June or July.

Mr Zacharias says the tumour didn’t show up on any previous scans and was only discovered by his surgeon during the surgery.

He says he values the prayers of people and God’s strength will carry him through.
