Rugby League Star Announces Retirement

Monday, April 15th, 2019

Another star of Queensland’s golden generation has called time on his rugby league career, with Greg Inglis announcing his immediate retirement.

Bursting onto the scene with Melbourne back in 2005, the powerful Inglis quickly took the NRL by Storm.

Two hundred and sixty-three NRL games, an Origin dynasty, and a premiership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs later, he’s called time on his decorated career.

The 32-year-old has made the announcement at Redfern Oval, saying there’s more to it than just the physical toll on his body.

“I’ve been contemplating it for a while now and I’ve come to terms to it,” Inglis told reporters.

Inglis says he’ll now move into a new role with the Rabbitohs, working with the team and the local community.
