The Salvation Army has provided temporary housing for families affected by the Black Summer bushfires

The charity teamed up with the Minderoo Foundation and the NSW government to fund the buildings of accommodation pods.

The pods are different sizes but come fully equipped with built in electricity, water and sewerage systems.

The Salvos Secretary for Mission Lt Col Lyn Edge says as well as meeting immediate needs, the organisation will be there for the long run to assist wherever needed.

More than 100 pods have already been allocated to eliglble families, with a further 60 to 70 in the process of being constructed.

The Salvation Army assisted more than 8000 NSW households during the bushfire response and are still helping thousands of people to recover their livelihoods.
