Anthony Albanese’s leadership of the Labor party continues to be under a cloud, with new polling showing he’s fallen further behind in the popularity stakes.
The latest Newspoll reveals support for Mr Albanese has drifted to 26 per cent.
It’s among his worst performances since becoming Opposition Leader two years ago.
In contrast, 61 per cent of those surveyed believe Scott Morrison makes the better Prime Minister.
The results come despite mounting criticism of the government’s handling of an alleged sexual assault in Parliament House.
However, it’s also on the back of a standoff with Facebook, and the start of the coronavirus vaccine rollout.
Despite Mr Morrison’s popularity, support for the Coalition and Labor sits at 50 per cent each after preferences.
