Billionaire Elon Musk is set to launch more satellites into the earth’s orbit through his company Space-X.

While the company says the aim of the project is to deliver fast speed broadband for consumers, bible translators say the technology will also help them conduct their work.

Andrew Flemming from Wycliffe USA told Mission Network News, the Space-X satellites will make it easier for bible translators who require internet access, to work productively in very remote places:

“Wycliffe have also used satellites in the past, but these have been geostationery or geocentric satellites. The SpaceX Starlink satellites will actually provide more significant access, and quicker speed.”

Wycliffe hopes to have access to more remote places within the next 18 months.
