Joe Burns is tipped to hang onto his spot at the top of the batting order when the Australian Test team is named to take on India today.

He and Marcus Harris have been in contention for the final spot in the team at Adelaide Oval.

Burns has struggled with form in recent matches.

His usual opening partner, the injured Dave Warner says he’s confident Burns is up to the task in the day-night test.

“I can feel what he’s going through… I know he’s in the right frame of mind,” Warner has told Nine.

“I’ve spoken to him quite a lot over the last two weeks and he’s doing everything right to prepare for the game. He’s giving himself every opportunity to go out there and perform.”

The lineup will be announced at the toss.
