National surveys across the United States have found 50 to 70 percent of students involved in the church, are walking away from an active faith once they reach college.

An organisation called ‘Every Student Sent’ has told Christian News Wire that America can no longer afford for this to happen.

It says young people are needed to help shape their generation.

Christian groups say the first few weeks when freshmen start college are critical, because that’s when both Christians and non-believing students are most open to the Gospel.

But making new friends and finding community has proved especially challenging during the pandemic.

However, College ministries, Christian schools and churches are already moving to make it easier to keep in contact.

They’ve teamed up with ‘Every Student Sent’ to try to reverse the trend.
