The World Health Organisation team investigating the origins of the pandemic has been released from hotel quarantine in China.
The group, including Australian Professor Dominic Dwyer, is being taken to another hotel where they’ll be able to meet face to face.
The team had to undergo a lot of testing while in quarantine, Professor Dwyer explained, this included “34 temperature checks, five swabs, four blood tests, 14 oxygen measures, and two blood pressure measures”.
“So they take it pretty seriously”.
The group has already been conducting online meetings with Chinese counterparts and are expected to visit the hospitals which treated patients at the start of the pandemic, but the members will only be able to visit sites under restricted conditions.
The team will also take animal samples and exchange contact tracing information.
