More people live in New South Wales than any other Australian state or territory. It's smaller than it was originally when founded in 1788 when it also included Van Diemen's Land (the old name for Tasmania), Norfolk Island and even New Zealand. 100 Vision transmitters cover the state, from Broken Hill in the far west, to Banora Point on the Queensland border, right down to Delegate on the border with Victoria.
In 2009, a New South Wales station had the honour of becoming Vision's 400th station to go on air nationwide at Lockhart in the Riverina region. In 2014, Dubbo became Vision's 600th station on air with what must surely be one of the longest run-ups in broadcast history – nearly 20 years. The 100th relay station within the state was installed at Gloucester in 2017.
