Discover Ceduna

Ceduna has a population of 1,955 and is located 776 km north-west of Adelaide via Port Augusta and 1200 km to the east of Norseman in Western Australia.

It’s the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, boasting spectacular beaches and cliffs bordered by isolated bushland.

Points of interest are Ceduna’s Arts and Cultural Centre where you can purchase authentic Aboriginal art, craft and artefacts.

Ceduna‘s Coastal Walking Trail winds along the foreshore of beautiful Murat Bay for 3.6km between the Ceduna Sailing Club Car Park and the Pinky Point Lookout at Thevenard. Local artists, children and the community contributed to a project of individually painted clay tiles inlaid in four bands along the trail. The trail is also ideal for cycling.

Pinky Point Lookout is situated at the Thevenard end of the walking trail. Photographers will love the views over the wharf, the islands, the channel and Denial Bay. But most of all are the spectacular sunrises and sunsets that can be viewed from the jetties at Denial Bay, Smoky Bay, Point Sinclair, Fowlers Bay and Ceduna. These are popular for fishing, squidding and drop-netting for blue swimmer crabs.

Smoky Bay and Denial Bay oysters have a reputation for being amongst the world’s finest, having been grown and harvested in the region’s clean ocean waters and gentle tides.

Shelly Beach is a perfect spot for child friendly swimming, and a popular spot for kite surfing.

Whales are plentiful at the Head of Bight during the winter months and the surfing at Cactus Beach attracts surfers from all over Australia.
