Brad Huddleston, a Vision supporter since 2012, is a well-known speaker on technology and culture. He is currently travelling with the Queensland Police, visiting schools to discuss the impact of digital addiction.
Brad tuned in to Visionathon this morning to share his heart with us. While we’re here doing our part, Brad is out on the front lines, making a tangible difference in the lives of young people, particularly in far north Queensland.
Brad told us about the grim challenges many young people face, and the constant headlines warning of a social media self-harm epidemic. It’s hard enough to be a teenager, but imagine being in a rural area, bombarded with negative influences and missing out on opportunities that others take for granted.
Our kids are facing immense pressure navigating a digital landscape rife with cyberbullying and anxiety. Working alongside Queensland Police, Brad visits local schools, armed with insights from his book The Dark Side of Technology, and with a mission to sow seeds of hope and healing.
Reaching Kids With the Gospel
‘We’re seeing unintended consequences from early tech adoption,’ says Brad, ‘similar to the smoking epidemic that doctors once advocated for stress relief. Now, we’re battling cyberbullying and its violent fallout.’
Vision helps provide Brad with a unique way to ensure the transformative message of the gospel reaches young people, even in a non-Christian environment. For parents, knowing there’s a compassionate voice giving hope to their kids is invaluable.
‘Through the anointing of God, we’re able to let our light shine,’ says Brad. ‘We want to see Jesus come and be the Prince of Peace amongst all of this turmoil.’
We never tire of hearing stories of how people’s lives are being impacted by Vision. This is the seed you are sowing your money into! Wouldn’t you love to be part of more stories like Brad’s?
