Worship is not just something we do, it’s at the core of who we are as Christians. God is looking for worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and truth. He’s not looking for people who come into church and then return to the world only to act like everybody else.
God wants our faith to go deeper than feeling happy when the music is good. He wants us trust in His goodness, even when we find ourselves in challenging situations. Instead of murmuring and complaining, we need to remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness.
On this episode of Enjoying Everyday Life, Joyce Meyer teaches us the power of our words. They might feel simple and trivial in your daily conversations, but have you ever thought about how you really use words when you speak? Are those words positive and encouraging for yourself and others, or are they hurtful and negative?
The Power of Our Words
The Bible describes the tongue as a small but powerful part of the body, that can do either great harm or good. If we learn to choose our words wisely and speak what God wants us to speak, it can set us up for a much brighter future.
‘We are in a time right now where we need to be bright lights,’ says Joyce. ‘We don’t need to be out there murmuring and grumbling and complaining about everything. Let’s talk more about God and what God’s doing instead.’
‘We need to keep giving thanks to God and praise Him for working in our lives.’
