About

During Visionathon, we love sharing stories of God’s amazing timing! Cheryl from Port Macquarie, recently joined us on Rise and Shine, to share her inspiring story of how a literal storm opened a door to faith that transformed her life and her family’s journey.

Cheryl told us about the unusual way she discovered Vision, through her brother Adam, who stumbled upon it when a storm knocked out his radio in Kempsey. ‘It was like a total God moment,’ Cheryl says. ‘He couldn’t get the radio to work, and then suddenly, Vision came on. My brother told me, you’ve got to listen to this!’

That moment turned into years of spiritual growth for both Cheryl and Adam, who were each facing their own personal challenges. Adam also called in to share his perspetive, saying, ‘After the storm, I turned on the radio, and there was this scratchy music, but it was Christian.’

For Adam and Cheryl, tuning into Vision became a lifeline. Adam shared how Vision’s presence in his life gave him support during some very tough times. ‘Having Vision on 24 hours a day was my comfort,’ he says. Both Adam and Cheryl say that discovering Vision was incredibly important to them as they faced family changes, court cases, and worked on healing old wounds.

Joy In Everyday Life

For Cheryl, Vision also became a place of refuge. ‘There were moments where I couldn’t get out of bed,’ she says. ‘I’d have Vision on, and whatever was playing still went into my head even when I couldn’t read the Bible.’ Cheryl shared how grateful she was for the Vision community, saying how God’s Word and the uplifting music gave her peace and clarity. ‘I was alone at times, but I was never lonely because I always had my Vision family with me.’

This journey of faith has given Cheryl not only strength but also joy in everyday life. She joked with us about the energy she brings to her work as a product trainer for a coffee company, and her ‘little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus’ t-shirt. Cheryl’s positive approach to life reflects the depth of her faith and shows the transformation God has brought through His presence.

Cheryl and Adam both continue to tune into Vision for daily encouragement and reminders of God’s truth. Their story shows how a simple radio broadcast can reach people wherever they are, reminding them of God’s constant love. Cheryl says, ‘I don’t know how I made it through except that Jesus carried me every step of the way. And He’ll never let me go.’
