Every mother can relate to the chaos that comes with raising children. It’s a 24/7 job with no pay, no holidays, no sick leave, and can be quite isolating at times. The more children the more chaos. Jenny from Traralgon in Victoria can attest to that—she has five children.
Her saving grace was discovering Vision when she visited a friend who had it playing in the background. That was 22 years ago when her son was a baby and she’s never looked at listening to anything else.
Helen shares the chaos of raising five children with the middle child and the youngest child being only three and a half years apart.
‘I felt like my brain was going insane,’ said Jenny. ‘You feel like you’re just coping and getting through. Sometimes I’ve thought I shouldn’t be driving because I’m that tired.’
Jenny’s faith got her through. Trusting God and praying got her through. She drew comfort knowing that the time was just a season. ‘You just need to enjoy where you’re at and have joy in where you’re at.’
Not only did listening to Vision help her get through those sometimes isolating times, but also meditating on some of her favourite Bible verses. Deuteronomy 28:2-4 was one of those Jenny wanted to declare over Vision and to people who may be hesitating about donating. She said that if God is speaking to you, it’s important to obey because with obedience comes blessings.
‘All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed …’ Deuteronomy 28:2-4 NIV
‘God’s so good. You can’t outgive God as people have said already this week,’ said Jenny. You might give money, but He’ll bless you in some other way. And it’s just being open to actually giving Him the glory for what He does for you every single day. It’s just so beautiful.’
We hand over our money for all sorts of things every day without giving it a second thought. It might be to buy a cup of coffee, put petrol in the car, or go out for lunch.
A donation to Vision is far more than just a transaction. It’s an investment in helping people focus on God’s Word. Something that will change their life and last for all eternity.
