A 14-month spiritual awakening on American college campuses has led to thousands of salvations and baptisms across the nation.
The final two Unite US outreaches of the year attracted 10,000 students at Texas A&M University and 6,000 at the University of Florida.
Unite US is a college campus evangelistic movement that organises outreaches marked by salvations, water baptisms, and worship — with the sole focus on “lifting up the name of Jesus.”
After seeing thousands saved in recent months, it believes today’s younger generations will lead a genuine revival across the nation.
Following this week’s Texas event, it posted: “We are absolutely blown away by how God moved in Reed Arena as over 10,000 college students gathered to lift the name of Jesus.”
“We will never take for granted the way God has shown up – night after night, university after university, ” it added.
“People say there’s no hope for Gen Z. But after tonight, we have more hope than ever that this generation will lead us in the greatest revival our nation has ever seen,” the ministry declared.
“This may be our last Unite event of the semester, but we believe it’s only the beginning of all God has in store,” it predicted.
After the Florida event, Unite US founder and evangelist Tonya Prewett proclaimed: “He did it again. We witnessed God move in a new way.”
“The level of surrender was unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed. 1,000 students came forward to give their lives to Jesus and hundreds chose to get baptised,” she revealed.
Over the past 14-months, more than 70,000 students from more than 400 universities have attended the Unite US outreaches on 11 campuses.
One of the main regular speakers Pastor Jonathan Pokluda of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, said after the Florida event: “Salvation has come to this campus. We saw the Holy Spirit move. It was just unbelievable.”
Organisers reported that members of the university’s football, basketball, and volleyball teams were among those baptised.
One Gator football player shared: “We needed this and I feel like our team is going to be turned for the better because the Lord is going to be in the presence of our locker room, our game strategy, everything we do because these guys have made the decision to turn to Jesus. Praise the Lord.”
“God has HUGE plans for this generation,” forecast a Unite US post.
The organisation traces its origins to an event that kicked off at Alabama’s Auburn University in September 2023 when 5,000 students showed up to worship Jesus and 200 were spontaneously baptised in a nearby lake.
“When God gave me the vision for Unite Auburn I could have never imagined what was coming,” Tonya Prewett told CBN News.
“I remember standing at the baptisms after the Auburn event in the middle of thousands of students just praising God and thinking: How can this stop? And it hasn’t. He keeps doing it. Again and again,” she shared.
“We’ve seen around 5,000 saved and close to 2,000 baptised. It’s truly indescribable,” Ms. Prewett proclaimed.
Unite US is encouraging Christians to keep praying for revival among Gen Z. This week it launched its Unite Day of Prayer and Social Media Fast.
