She embraced her new community with open arms, fully believing in its teachings. But not everything was positive. While some teachings were uplifting, others were troubling and left her spiritually hurt.
In her church, Sophie was taught strict beliefs, like only people speaking in tongues could be saved. This made her feel isolated from friends who weren’t part of the church. It created a mental prison for her, and even after she left the church many years later, Sophie still felt lost spiritually.
Saved by the Blood of Jesus
That began to change when Sophie stumbled upon a The Word for Today booklet and tuned into Vision radio. ‘Many years of listening to Vision has helped me to deprogram to be a much healthier Christian. I realise that we’re not saved by speaking in tongues. We’re saved by the blood of Jesus and believing in Him.’
Sophie is now a vibrant member of her local Anglican church and passionately believes in Vision’s mission to spread the true Gospel. ‘Vision has truly been a lifeline,’ Sophie says. ‘It has helped me understand the broader, orthodox principles of Christianity and has restored my faith in a loving, inclusive God.’
