This is Part 4 of the 9-part series where I will continue to detail some of the prophecies in the Bible given for the ‘last days’ and the evidence of these prophecies having recently happened, are happening now or beginning to happen now. We can now witness these prophetic events happening or starting to develop so that the events prophesised are ready to come to pass during the tribulation period. Jesus said (Matthew 24:25) that he told us of these prophecies in advance so we would know ahead of time and when you see these prophecies being fulfilled, you will know the time of the end is near (Matthew 24:33).
Bible verse: Matthew 24:7 Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another.
Generally accepted interpretation: Alliances will form and are forming and escalating wars between countries.
Evidence of the prophecy happening: There is no need for evidence here as wars are occurring in many places throughout the globe. Although these things have happened many times before, we now have Presidents mentioning ‘nuclear war’, ‘Armageddon’ and ‘world war 3’. This is certainly new. The ‘kingdoms’ are forming and will be addressed in another section. There are numerous world leaders saying that WW111 is a distinct possibility.
Bible verse: Psalm 83 They are making secret plans against your people; they are plotting against those you protect. “Come,” they say, “let us destroy their nation, so that Israel will be forgotten forever.
Generally accepted interpretation: Psalm 83 foretells of a future 10-member alliance, comprised of the Arab territories that mostly share common borders with Israel, who will form an alliance and seek to wipe Israel “off of the map”. Note that this is not the Ezekiel 39 war during the tribulation period.
Evidence of the prophecy happening: The modern-day nationalities listed in the Psalm 83 alliance, are the EXACT neighbouring enemies of Israel who are at present, warning Israel of their intentions to destroy her and of whose preparations to come against Israel are dominating the headlines. That is, this alliance is forming today and means that we are getting closer to what is prophesised as the Psalm 83 War.
Ezekiel 38 also lists countries that will form alliances against Israel. Many of these countries still exist today but over the centuries, some names have changed. For example, Magog is now the regions of Russia and central Asia including Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Turkistan, and Kazakhstan. Rosh is now central and northern regions of Russia. Meshech is now Southern Russia, Georgia and Ukraine. Tubal, Gomer and Beth-Togarmah are now incorporated within modern day Turkey. Persia is of course Iran. Ethiopia we know today but is rather Sudan and Libya is still Libya.
Bible verse: Luke 21:20 When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that it will soon be destroyed.
Generally accepted interpretation: Jerusalem will be surrounded by a coalition of armies who will attack it.
Evidence of the prophecy happening: Israel is always under attack from various parties near its borders. However, over the last few months the attacks are gaining intensity from all sides. Alliances are forming against Israel as mentioned above and many parts of the Western world are turning against Israel.
Bible verse: Revelation 16:12, Jeremiah 50:38 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. A drought on her waters! They will dry up. For it is a land of idols, idols that will go mad with terror.
Generally accepted interpretation: When the Euphrates River runs dry then immense things are on the horizon.
Evidence of the prophecy happening: The sixth bowl judgment—the penultimate judgment of the 7-year tribulation—is the drying up of the Euphrates River. We are witnessing the setup for the fulfillment of a major end-times prophecy. The waters of Babylon are the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. Both rivers are drying up now. Often prophecy has a double fulfillment: once in the past and again in the future, during the end times. Perhaps this is the case with these prophecies of the drying rivers?
Bible verse: Revelation 9:16-17 I was told the number of the mounted troops: it was two hundred million. And in my vision I saw the horses and their riders: they had breastplates red as fire, blue as sapphire, and yellow as sulfur. The horses’ heads were like lions’ heads, and from their mouths came out fire, smoke, and sulfur.
Generally accepted interpretation: The invading army into Israel in the 7-year tribulation will consist of 200,000,000 troops.
Evidence of the prophecy happening: The 2023 alliance between Russia and China brings about the largest combined military force in history. Both countries have reported that they intend to build their military forces quickly. We are witnessing the build-up of the prophesised tribulation forces.
Russian and China combined now have around 400,000,000 personnel ‘available for military’ making this prophecy of 200,000,000 troops totally possible.
