Australian singer-songwriter Nathan Tasker is a storyteller at heart, with a deep desire to awaken people to the love of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Nathan weaves his personal journey of sorrow and hope into songs that echo far beyond his life, compelling listeners to long for their one, true home and the One who will never leave them.
Early on, Nathan’s career path led him to Nashville, and he has since established a home there for himself and his family. He most recently worked as a Director of Music and Liturgy at a church and speaks on behalf of children in developing nations for Compassion.
Nathan recently joined Robbo on Vision Radio to share his excitement about his upcoming tour in Australia, during which he will be the opening act for We Are Messengers in just a few weeks’ time.
Nathan has already spent some time in 2023 on tour with the band, and has since become good friends with lead singer, Darren Mulligan. ‘There was just this immediate, deep connection,’ he says.
Along with being similar ages and having similar-age children, both artists miss their home countries terribly. Despite their gratitude for the opportunities in America, when the chance to tour Australia arose, Nathan was eager not to let it slip away.
‘We both realised it would be a great chance to hang out in my home country,’ says Nathan. ‘And it’s also an opportunity to see some of my Australian friends and people who have supported my music for so long.’
According to Nathan, the music of We Are Messengers holds a profound connection with Christians due to its resonant message. ‘It’s about taking the things that Jesus says really seriously, and I love that Darren thinks about that all the time.’
Nathan is confident that the upcoming concerts will be something special. ‘We want people to be encouraged, to be inspired, and to be really kind of pumped up.’
‘We really love what we do, and there’ll be a lot of energy because of the short period of time we have together.’
