Vision’s radio station at Culburra Beach went to air on 23 August 2022. We are excited to have reached the halfway mark! Praise God! This is our 50th radio station launched out of the 100 stations 2021-2023 project and 787 station overall.
It only took one phone call for the Anglican Church pastors to agree to host the station. We are grateful to them and our technician, Will, who installed this new station.
Culburra Beach is located 181 km south of Sydney via the Princess Highway to Nowra. It has a population of 2,874 residents and is surrounded by Lake Wollumboola, Curleys Bay, Crookhaven River, and Jervis Bay National Park.
The word culburra is a Tharawal Aboriginal word meaning sand. The highlights to visit are The Crookhaven Heads Lighthouse, Tilbury Cove, and the historic Jindyandy Mill built in 1830 as the first convict-built building south of Sydney. It now houses five speciality shops, including The Junk and Disorderly Antiques Shop, and around 30 individual stalls featuring local artisan giftwares, a lolly shop, and a gift and Christmas store.
