Popanyinning is a tiny, ‘blink and you miss it’ town in Western Australia with a tiny population of around 100 people. Imagine that? Sam moved there 20 years ago and began listening to Vision because Vision FM kept popping up.
Sam is the owner of the Popanyinning General Store and also Vision’s radio station site host.
‘Five years ago, we got this station put on. We host it here at the shop. The shop is the General Store, licensed Post Office, and fast-food outlet. Many people come from all different ways of life’’ said Sam. ‘We all need Christ, but some need Him more than others at the moment. I was saved 26 years ago. I have a personal relationship with Christ. I was an alcoholic. I turned my life around. I remarried, and here we are as a small business in these times.’
Sam is a strong believer in investing in God’s Kingdom. He is a passionate supporter of Vision because he believes in the mission of reaching every corner of Australia with the Gospel and extend the Kingdom of God.
‘God will come into their lives by the Spirit of God. I’ve got people that come here and say how peaceful this place is—the area and the freedom that we have. We have you guys talking all day on the radio. It’s never turned off. It goes seven days, 24 hours. I make sure God’s presence and annointing is in this place—is on this town—is on this region.’
What a powerful testimony of Sam’s love for God that he wants his town and surrounding regions blessed by the Holy Spirit.
Every town matters to God and every person in those towns matter.
‘Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the LORD that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?’ Zechariah 4:10 NIV
Vision started with small steps, in the humble town of Beaudesert in Queensland. We’ve now grown into a national organisation in ways the founders may never have dreamed. DAB+ Digital radio reaches millions in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. We are hoping to reach 26 million souls if possible.
Would you like to be a part of our ministry to spread the Gospel to every corner of Australia including towns like Popanyinning?
It costs around $10,000 to set up a radio station and around $1,000 to keep a high-powered Vision station running for a week.
A donation to Vision is far more than just a transaction. It’s an investment in helping people focus on God’s Word. Something that will change their life and last for all eternity.
