About

In this episode of Faith Boost, Pastor Andrew McLennan shares an important message about standing before God and being responsible for how we live. This is the time for salvation, because our time on earth is limited. Using the story of Noah from Genesis, Andrew points to the moment when Noah and his family entered the ark, showing us the importance of being ready.

In Genesis 7:16, God tells Noah to enter the ark with the animals. Andrew highlights how amazing it was that even the animals listened to God’s command. All of creation recognises God’s power. ‘God is supernatural,’ says Andrew. ‘He just told the animals to get in the boat. And animals know there’s a God. They know who God is.’

Inside the ark, there was likely a lot of tension. Andrew imagines that Noah’s sons may have doubted their father’s actions. They might have wondered why they were doing all this since it had never rained before. This doubt is similar to how people today react to warnings about Jesus returning. Just as Noah warned people about the coming flood, Andrew encourages us to take the warnings about Jesus’ return seriously.

This is the time for salvation

‘Just because something’s never been seen doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen,’ says Andrew. ‘In Noah’s Day it had never rained before. He tried to warn the world. Everyone thought he was an idiot, but he got in the boat. Today, Christians are warning everyone that Jesus is coming back again. People think it’s a joke. They think it’s crazy because it’s never happened before.’

Andrew believes that a key moment in the story is when God closes the door of the ark. This symbolises the end of any chance for salvation. Those who laughed at Noah quickly regretted their disbelief when the flood began. Once the door closes, it is too late to turn to God.

‘We’ve got to help people know Him,’ says Andrew. ‘Maybe you’ve heard the Gospel and you have never received Him. But God eventually is going to close that door. We only have a set time that we can respond to Him.’

Andrew encourages us to act now before it’s too late. This is the time for salvation. Accept the Gospel and respond to God’s call today.
