Young Christian artist Seph Schlueter has seen his popularity soar over the past year, thanks to the release of his song Counting My Blessings. With his life changing so quickly, Seph manages to stay grounded thanks to the support he receives from both his family and close friends. Recently married and expecting a baby, he feels truly blessed and is relying on God and finding strength through prayer.
‘Everywhere I look,’ says Seph, ‘I feel like I see just His hand moving which is really cool. There is a deeper reliance on Him, and I know I can’t do this on my own.’
At just 24, Seph has been busy recording music and touring, while staying grounded in his faith through daily prayer. This practice helps him remain humble. He also receives valuable support and advice from well-known artists like Phil Wickham and Matt Maher, which has been instrumental in his career growth.
Finding strength through Prayer
‘One of the biggest lifelines for me in this whole thing is prayer,’ says Seph. ‘Because I feel like every time I go into prayer, God’s pruning me. He just continually keeps me humble and keeps me growing, and makes it about Him and not me. That personal prayer with the Lord has really helped me stay steady in this season.’
Seph is currently working on new music following the release of his EP, recording some fresh tracks in Nashville. He plans to release one or two new songs this year, including a worship track and a special rendition of Joy to the World for Christmas. His role as a worship director at Damascus Ministry also adds meaning to his music journey. ‘That’s what I do full time,’ says Seph. ‘It’s a joy and I love it.’
Seph is excited about what’s ahead, and says he will be touring again soon. He’s also hoping to visit Australia where his music is gaining popularity. Grateful for his journey, Seph’s passion is to keep making music, trusting in God and the support of his friends and family.
