Terry’s life took a dramatic turn in September of 2023 when he collapsed at church. After recovering from an eight-hour operation and being in a coma for a week, he found out he’d had four brain aneurysms.
There’s a 50% chance of surviving a ruptured brain aneurysm. Surviving four on the other hand is a miracle. Terry attributes his recovery to the faithfulness of God—the God of miracles, and a little help from Vision.
‘My wife suffers from a bit of insomnia, so she listens to Jeff Vines and Vision at night, which helps put her to sleep,’ Terry said. ‘I found Vision that way after I was back home, and that was a source of encouragement.’
‘God is the God of miracles. He does heal and I experienced God’s peace through that time. If you look at John 14; ‘The peace I leave with you and let your heart not be troubled or afraid. That’s what I experienced.’
Recovering was a long process that shook Terry’s family to the core and had multiple ripple effects.
‘It was pretty tough. My wife was in tears for quite a while. She hung on to the Lord. We’ve come through together as a family,’ said Terry. ‘It was tough. I lost my job just before Christmas because they found me to be too risky. But God is faithful. I found that I could do business on my own from home and I was able to subcontract back to where I used to be.’
That’s the kind of God we serve. No matter what life throws at us, if we stand firm in our faith, God will look after us. It’s a test of our faith.
Terry and his family live in Fern Tree, a suburb of Hobart in Tasmania. Thanks to your generous donations in the past, Vision was able to install a high-powered transmitter, 104.3FM on Mount Wellington at the end of 2022, which now covers all of Hobart and its surrounds.
We hand over our money for all sorts of things every day without giving it a second thought. It might be to buy a cup of coffee, put petrol in the car, or go out for lunch.
A donation to Vision is far more than just a transaction. It’s an investment in advancing the Gospel together. Something that will change lives and last for all eternity.
What part will you play this Visionathon? Are you able to make a tax-deductible donation right now, or even go the extra mile by becoming an Extra Mile Partner monthly giver?
You can respond by calling 1800 316 316, at vision.org.au or in the free Vision Christian Media app. You’ll be helping people look to God daily as we believe and work together.
