Victor, an American missionary of Mexican-Latino descent, born and raised in Los Angeles, California, is now living and evangelising in Australia.
‘I just recently got married to a beautiful Australian, so the plan is to live here for a while,’ said Victor.
Victor loves the power of Christian radio to reach multitudes. He was involved in it in Los Angeles and recalls how impactful it was to hear people’s testimonies.
‘Hearing about people being at the end of their rope, dealing with all sorts of issues and then putting on the radio and, by God’s mercy and grace, their message comes on to touch people’s lives,’ Victor said.
‘I was a rideshare driver back in Los Angeles, and I remember picking up a woman one time. She was from the Middle East and was going through a life-threatening disease in the Middle East. She was bedridden and was at the point of death, but miraculously survived, which she attributed to Jesus, and somehow ended up back in America.’
Victor had Christian radio playing in his car as he was driving her. She asked him what he was listening to and then asked which church Victor attended. When he told her he attended Pastor Jack Hayford’s church, she was delighted. It so happened that she heard Jack Hayford on the radio back in the 1980s and went to his church. The best part was that she was personally baptised by Pastor Jack.
‘I believe in the power of Christian media and Christian radio,’ said Victor.
Victor’s passion for sharing the Gospel prompted him to join Youth With a Mission (YWAM (pronounced Why Wham) in January 2023. YWAM, founded in 1960, is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups and Christian traditions dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world.
‘I’m actually still praying and, in the process, to do YWAM full time—be a missionary full time, be engaged in missions and evangelism and outreach and ministry—just praying through it all. We’ve been here for about two months or so,’ Victor said.
It’s heartwarming to hear young people on fire for Jesus and wanting to work in full-time ministry. It’s another way to advance the Gospel together.
Did you know that $50,000 would put The Word For Today into the hands of almost 25,000 people? Over the years, Vision Christian Media has been able to distribute 11 million copies of The Word For Today throughout Australia. How many souls have been saved because of the faithfulness of people who sow seed into Vision’s ministry so that we are able to spread the Gospel to every Australian? Only God knows.
We hand over our money for all sorts of things every day without giving it a second thought. It might be to buy a cup of coffee, put petrol in the car, or go out for lunch.
A donation to Vision is far more than just a transaction. It’s an investment in helping people focus on God’s Word. Something that will change their life and last for all eternity.
