About

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Karen shares her reflections on this verse…

Some animals are so shy and timid. They exhibit social behaviours that make them self-isolation experts (e.g., the platypus, marine turtles and snow leopards). Yet, we humans have been created for relationship and interaction, with each other and with our maker.

We are not to cower anxiously before God, before our Lord and Saviour Jesus, our heavenly Mediator. We are encouraged to come and to keep on coming to Him, without fear or doubt, freely, constantly and persistently. And when we do, it is forgiveness and peace that is granted, in love.

So filled with compassion, Jesus died and rose again so that through faith in Him we can come to the throne of grace with boldness. Excellent reassurance, in times of need!

So, let’s follow His direction, and enter the throne-room of heaven, not in apprehensive timidity but with confidence because He’s flung wide the golden door and the reward of heaven awaits.
