This is very important to understand. This is the setup that Jesus is giving us. He says that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. This is so reassuring to know that Jesus has already gone ahead of us and sorted out the legal side of things! All authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus.
So as representatives of Jesus when we begin to walk into the challenges of life, and we all will, we should remind ourselves that we are not going in our name. Or our Pastor’s name. Or our church’s name. We are going into life with the name that is above every other name. The name that has been given all authority. That name is Jesus Christ!
