About

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Anthony shares his reflections on this verse…

We all face the daily challenge of making decisions. More often than not, these daily decisions can be inconsequential, ranging from what to wear to deciding what’s for dinner. Because of the limited & short-term consequences of these decisions we usually don’t have any trouble making them (though I have seen my wife break down over trying to choose which ice cream flavour to get at the supermarket). But it also means we don’t usually involve God in them. It is incredible to think that even in the small decisions God cares. God wants to be included in every part of our lives which is why He says “in ALL your ways acknowledge Him…”.

Likewise, when we come to the larger decisions in life with longer-lasting consequences, we can often freeze with indecision, not knowing what road to take. We have all at different times asked God to show us the right way but an answer isn’t always provided. I love this verse because we can be reassured that God doesn’t need us to understand everything, or know exactly what to do. What He wants from us is to simply trust Him, acknowledge that we want to follow and please Him with our decision, and then take the next step, trusting that God will close and open the right doors making your path straight. This verse has been the bedrock for all my decision throughout life and God has never failed to make my paths straight. Trust, Pray, Take the Next Step.
